(May 30, 2024, York, Pa.) — Royal Square Development and Construction (RSDC), a leader in design-build adaptive reuse and responsible urban redevelopment in the Susquehanna Valley region, today announced the promotion of Dylan Bauer from President of Development to President and CEO. Bauer succeeds the company’s founder, Josh Hankey, who will transition to the role of CFO in support of the company’s continued growth on the heels of announcing several major developments.
After 15 years of leading the company though exponential growth and establishing regional recognition for its high quality design-build construction capabilities, Josh Hankey has put into motion a strategic plan for continued expansion and investment, leveraging Bauer’s exceptional talents and proven track record as a catalyst.
Bauer joined RSDC in 2014 as Director of Real Estate and Property Management, playing a pivotal role in the company’s strategic investment strategies, urban redevelopment, and revenue growth. Over the past decade, working alongside Hankey, the company redeveloped more than $70 million in Downtown York real estate, establishing RSDC as a formidable design-build general contractor and construction manager with a proven track record of adaptable reuse and urban development.
“As our organization continues to grow and see enormous opportunity in regional construction management and design-build applications, Bauer is the exact visionary leader we want at the helm. His passion and savvy are undeniable and contagious. Since founding the company, my vision was to consider how we continue to deliver in changing markets while staying true to our mission. We are now exceptionally positioned to take full advantage of market opportunities under his leadership,” said Josh Hankey, founder and outgoing CEO of Royal Square Development and Construction.
In 2005, Bauer founded his first company, Chilly Dilly’s Ice Cream, while studying Entrepreneurship at Temple University. After selling his business in 2011, he spent three years at ROCK Real Estate where he cultivated his passion for Downtown York. Since joining RSDC in 2014, the company has received multiple awards such as the Henry A. Jordan Award for Outstanding Historic Preservation Efforts from Preservation PA, CPBJ 50 Fastest Growing Companies and CPBJ Best Places to Work.
Dylan Bauer will assume the role of President and CEO as of June 01, 2024.
